Altrusa International of Lake County is a member of Altrusa International, an association of professional women and men who volunteer their energies and expertise in projects dedicated to community betterment. Altrusa is also a community service organization that espouses volunteerism, service and fights for literacy and against AIDS. Assistance is given to projects emphasizing literacy through the Altrusa International Foundation.
The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. Members must have a diploma from a four year college or university. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. AAUW – Waukegan is a member of the Coalition, as is AAUW - Mid-Lake County Branch.
The Aux Plaines Chapter 99s is a member of the international organization of licensed women pilots from 35 countries. It is a non-profit, charitable membership corporation holding 501(c)(3) US tax status. Although there are other female pilot organizations in various states and nations, virtually all women of achievement in aviation have been or are members of The Ninety-Nines. It’s purpose is to engage in strictly educational, charitable, and/or scientific activities and purposes, and particularly to promote aeronautical science by such means as is not inconsistent with the educational, charitable, and scientific purposes of the corporation.
Beta Sigma Phi Beta Sigma Phi International is a non-academic sorority with 200,000 members in chapters around the world. Founded in Abilene, Kansas in 1931 by Walter W. Ross, the organization has spread to every state of the United States, to every Canadian province, and to 30 other countries. The sorority was founded for the social, cultural, and civic enrichment of its members. Donations of approximately $1 million have been made to medical research and treatment and to such institutions as homes for children. Beta Sigma Phi is not a secret society. The Greek letters of its name represent Life, Learning and Friendship, which is the organization's motto.

located at highways 176 and 45 in Mundelein to foster career development,
friendship and client referrals in a non-competitive, supportive environment.

General Federation of Women’s Clubs – IL 10th District The General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the world's largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational, women's volunteer service organizations, was founded in 1890 and chartered by the 56th United States Congress in 1901.
The League of Women Voters of Lake County (LWVLC) is an Inter-League Organization (ILO) organized to promote the purposes of the League and to take action on county governmental matters. LWVLC members include members-at-large of the LWVIL residing in Lake County and members enrolled in each of the six local Leagues:
The League is a volunteer organization that is nonpartisan and never supports or opposes any political party or candidate. The League does take action, however, on governmental issues that it has thoroughly studied and on which it has reached general agreement. Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to any person who subscribes to the purposes and policy of the League. Local membership automatically enrolls the member in the county, state, and national leagues.
Church Women United, of which Waukegan Area Church Women United is a part, is a national, ecumenical movement that brings Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women together into one community of prayer, advocacy and service. Membership in CWU is open to all Christian women who wish to manifest their unity and express the ecumenical dimensions of their faith and work. Women of all racial, ethnic, and other diversities are welcome. Three celebrations are held each year. The Board is made up of representatives of member churches.
Waukegan Women’s City Club was organized in 1990 to provide an opportunity for women to meet other women in the community on an informal basis, abstaining from politics and fundraising activities. The club's objectives are: to keep informed on various civic, economic and social interests; share business ideas; and support worthy philanthropic and social movements. The Women’s Business Exchange helps area women promote their businesses in a non-competitive atmosphere and share experiences with professionals from all walks of life. Our members are a collection of business women from many fields. We are non-competitive, so only one company from each industry can be represented. We currently have representatives from many areas. Women Interested in Government (WINGS) The Lake County Women Interested in Government (WINGS) was organized in 1986 for the purpose of encouraging women to seek elective and appointive office at all levels of government, to educate women about leadership roles and the political process, to promote their participation in public affairs, to afford a forum for women to address appropriate issues, to stimulate research about women and their role in and impact on governmental issues and women's political participation.
WINGS holds three brunch meetings a year. We meet in May for our annual meeting, October and February. Plan to come and meet a great group of women with similar interests.
