Lake County Women’s Coalition Scholarship:
Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 Scholarship Information -
The College of Lake County Foundation announces the Lake County Women’s Coalition Scholarship in honor of Coalition founder Barbara Richardson. The remaining balance in the Coalition’s scholarship fund ($1160.33) will be distributed as needed among eligible students, to be applied to tuition, fees, books, transportation, and/or on-site child care.
Applicant requirements:
- At least half-time enrollment
- Woman age 30 or over
- Lake County resident
- Minimum 2.5 grade point average
- Financial need
- In addition, the applicant must agree that if she is selected, she will contact the Lake County Women’s Coalition to arrange a meeting with Coalition members at some time during the term of her scholarship to inform them of the scholarship’s affect on her educational and occupational aspirations.
Interested students should submit the following to the Financial Aid Office:
- A College of Lake County Scholarship Application
- One page essay describing educational and career goals
- Financial statement comparing personal resources to anticipated college costs, and listing which areas of aid are requested (tuition/fees, books, transportation, on-site child care)
